Pain
I disagree that one should always strive to minimize pain, thought I still subscribe to the world view of consequentialism and seek the best outcome to any situation. My morality is based purely off of logic and consequence, but pain can be a valuable consequence and is an intrinsic aspect of life. I advise minimizing pain but it must be accepted and pleasure must conversely be controlled. Although everyone should attempt to limit pain and increase pleasure, realistically nature will construct a balance between pleasure and pain. These moments of pain are not negative; they are opportunities to learn and potential passion in disguise. Pain cannot be avoided and must be embraced.
